About This Tea

Ma Tou Yan Rou Gui(马头岩肉桂) - Rou Gui from Ma Tou Yan is known for its high aroma, spiciness and dominance.
The domineering and long flavor is like a horse galloping through a river, and the wonderful and strong aroma of the tea can't disguise his dominant temperament in the jungle.

The meticulously thrice-roasted Ma Tou Yan Rou Gui presents a rich, glossy, and incredibly clear infusion. The initial three brews might feel somewhat coarse, yet they unleash an overpowering and bold character. As time unfolds, from the fourth to the eighth infusion, the tea reveals a dominant yet tender essence, with a fragrance that's enveloping, soft, yet profound.

From its robust beginnings to its gentle middle and lingering aftertaste, this tea distinctly manifests a deep emotional journey. As you reach the ninth to the twelfth infusions, the flavor intensifies and endures, with a rich, full-bodied infusion and a firm tea essence. The rock-like qualities are subtly embedded in each sip, offering a long, powerful aftertaste.By the fifteenth infusion, the tea turns a charming orange-yellow, slowly unfolding its flavors in a balanced manner with slow simmering.

*Tea leaves contain tea polyphenols and caffeine, which are the source of the bitter and astringent flavour of the tea soup, as well as the source of the sweetness. Reducing the amount of tea leaves, lowering the water temperature or speeding up the soup can reduce the bitterness and astringency.
